It Feels Good, To Do Good.
The Rainbow 5K Run/Walk is the health initiative of The Pride Center and The City of Wilton Manors, it hopes to grow with a few hundred of ‘chip-timed’ walkers, joggers and runners will gathered in Wilton Manors in April. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a first timer, experienced or seasoned, the 5k run event is the perfect way to continue your healthy lifestyle or to start one. But your participation and contribution helps support an outstanding and local organization.
Your contribution to the Rainbow 5K Run/Walk helps strengthen our community in large and small ways. Proceeds are invested locally to an organizations committed to developing leadership, inspiring community service, health and wellness. The generosity of individual donors, the public and private sectors and hundreds of active volunteers combine to make a difference in our communities’ lives.
About The Pride Center
For 25 years, The Pride Center has provided a welcoming, safe space–an inclusive home–that celebrates, nurtures and empowers the LGBTQ communities and our friends and neighbors in South Florida. The Pride Center’s programs and services meet the distinct socio-economic, health, spiritual, and safety needs of the LGBT community.
We host more than 60 regularly-meeting groups each month. Support, social and educational groups focus on women, Seniors, youth, men, transgender, recovery, health, the arts, athletics, spirituality, games and more. More than 50,000 adults and youth attend activities at the Center each year. Outreach activities over the past year directly impacted 26,262 residents and visitors to South Florida. The Pride Center is a major site for HIV testing and prevention, education and counseling. It also offers holistic and comprehensive support programs for persons living with HIV/AIDS, including the nationally acclaimed PALS Project.
Stop in and learn about all we do: a community Flea Market, Senior exercise classes, Bingo, art gallery openings, women’s speaker series, Coffee and Conversation gatherings, music events and adult education opportunities through Pride University, including ballroom dancing and conversational Spanish classes.
